【ART FAIR ASIA FUKUOKA】

Following last week’s feature, we have another art event to introduce this week.

ART FAIR ASIA FUKUOKA, or AFAF, is one of Japan’s largest art fairs, bringing together Japan and Asia, and connecting people through art.

Museums, universities, companies, and art fairs from Kyushu and across Asia work together to create an exhibition featuring carefully selected galleries from Japan and overseas. This year, a total of 83 galleries will take part, including a record eight galleries from Taiwan, as well as 16 overseas galleries from places such as South Korea and the Philippines.

And there is more than just the exhibitions themselves. The event will also feature talks and guided tours, along with live performances, large-scale installations, and specially curated presentations introducing some of today’s most noteworthy artists.

ART FAIR ASIA FUKUOKA will be held for four days, from Thursday, October 1st through Sunday, October 4th, at the Fukuoka International Center.

24th Japanese Speech Contest for Foreign Residents

The 24th Japanese Speech Contest for Foreign Residents will be held on Sunday, October 25th, from 1:00 p.m.

At this contest, foreign residents studying Japanese at classes and schools in the Fukuoka metropolitan area will give speeches in Japanese on a variety of topics, including their experiences of living in Fukuoka and their dreams for the future.

The venue is the Science Hall at the Fukuoka City Science Museum in Ropponmatsu, Chuo Ward. Admission is free, and no advance reservation is required.

Please come along and hear the results of all the hard work the participants have put into their Japanese studies.

【Free Consultations on Immigration, Residency, and Nationality】

Do you have questions about your status of residence, period of stay, or other immigration-related matters? 

The Fukuoka City International Foundation offers free consultations for foreign residents living in Fukuoka. Consultations are held on the second Sunday of every month, from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.

A gyousei-shoshi, or certified administrative lawyer will be available to answer your questions and provide advice. If you would like a consultation, please check in by 3:30 p.m.

No reservation is required for consultations in English, Chinese, or Japanese.

If you would like to consult in another language, please contact the Foundation at least two weeks in advance.

All consultations are confidential, so please feel free to use the service.
