The Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries Festival is going to be held on Saturday, November 8th! It's an event where producers and salesmen in the business mingle with the local people and introduce them to agricultural and marine foods and goods, educating them about the freshness and safety of locally produced products.

Locally produced products such as rice, fresh fruits and vegetables, and freshly caught seafood, chicken eggs, meat, dairy and other livestock related products, along with ikebana, will all be up for sale.

Oysters and sazae turbines cooked in their shells will be sold live on stage! They will also be giving away free pon-gashi, a type of Japanese treat made by compressing grains under pressure. Taste them freshly made!

And, don't miss the Rock, Paper, Scissors Janken Competition. It's always a crowd pleaser and fills up with long lines according to participants in past events. You could win fresh rice or other agricultural and marine product prizes.

There will also be activity areas. There, participants can try their skills in the Log Cutting Competition or at the Forest Craft Corner. And, those looking to get into farming in the city can discuss topics with professionals at the Farming Consultation Corner. Nutritionists will also be on hand to explain school lunch programs. Don't miss your chance to taste professionally prepared school lunches at the Kyushoku School Lunch Taste Testing Corner.

The Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries Festival will take place from 9 AM until 3:30 PM on November 8th at a plaza in front of the Sengyo Ichiba Kaikan, the Fish Market Center in Nagahama. It's just a 12 minute walk from the Akasaka Subway Station at the Fukuoka City Chuo Ward.

And, also happening on November 8th, an area of the fish market usually off-limits to non-industry personnel will be opened to the public from 9 AM until 12 noon for Nagahama Fish Market Citizen Appreciation Day. The 200-meter covered market will be full of fresh, frozen or dried seafood, along with other processed products.

The Tuna Butchering Show will also be held starting at 9:30 AM.
