Every first and third Thursday of the month, there is a “Japanese Chat Salon” being held in the Fukuoka City International Foundation large conference room on the 5th floor of Fukuoka City Hall’s North Annex. It’s a place where foreign students studying Japanese in Fukuoka, including students of Japanese language schools, and local Japanese volunteers can get together in a relaxed atmosphere and talk. The next session is scheduled to take place on January 7th.

Sessions start at 1:30 PM and run through 5 PM. Participants are free to come and go as they please during the session, and participation is free! Reservations are not necessary, however if you plan to attend in a group of 5 or more people please contact the Fukuoka Foreign Student Support Association prior to your arrival.

Anyone who wants to use Japanese they have studied previously, or just talk with a native Japanese person, this is your chance!

And, Rainbow Plaza has one more announcement about its year-end, year-start-up hours.

Rainbow Plaza will be closed for 6 days, between Tuesday, December 29th and Sunday, January 3rd. It will open its doors again on Monday, January 4th of 2016 at 10:00 AM.

Except for the year-end holiday closure, and its monthly, one-day closures, Rainbow Plaza, located on the 8th floor of the Tenjin IMS Building, is open from 10:00 AM until 8:00 PM everyday, with a staff that helps provide foreigners in Fukuoka with information on daily living and travel, as well as offering other assistance, in Korean, Chinese, and English.

Furthermore, consultation services are offered with doctors, psychological counselors, lawyers and other specialists, free of charge.
