With company transfers, new job hires and students starting up attendance at new schools, people are moving! March and April are busy periods at local ward offices. Therefore, on Sunday, March 27th and Sunday, April 3rd, ward and branch municipal offices will hold extra hours, processing things such as notices of residence changes and address changes, or "jyuminnhyou no tennshutsu" and "tennyuu todoke", in Japanese, as well as other accompanying paperwork.

On those days, the Citizen Section, Health Insurance and Pension Section, Welfare and Nursing Care Insurance Section, and the Child Rearing Support Section of ward offices in Fukuoka city will hold special hours. They will offer services from 10 AM until 2 PM. The Irube and Seibu Branch Offices will be opened as well. Please visit the appropriate ward or branch office for your residency to receive service. However, please be aware that if you have any documents that need confirmation by municipalities other than Fukuoka city, they might not be processed.

The most convenient place to obtain official certificates, such as copies of Certificates of Residence, is by going to the ID Service Corners that can be found at the Information Plaza on the first floor of Fukuoka City Hall and next to the Customer Service Center in the Hakata Subway Station. Service for obtaining copies of Certificates of Residence and Seal Registration Certificates is available between 9 AM and 8 PM except for days with special office closures.

Also, residents of Fukuoka city can receive certified documents at convenience stores anywhere in Japan. If using this service, be sure to bring your Basic Resident Registration Card that has been registered for the convenience store issuing service. Or, you may bring your Individual Number Card bearing electronic certification for user identification.
