Fukuoka Tower was built at the Momochihama beach in Sawara Ward as a monument of the Asia Pacific Expo held during the first year of the Heisei Period (1989) in commemoration of the 100th anniversary of Fukuoka city's establishment of a municipal system.

Today it serves as an observation and radio tower as well as a sightseeing spot.

While growing a bit older, spanning the 30 years since its opening, the range of visitors has changed as well due partly to the increase in foreign visitors. In addition, it has developed a variety of different usage needs.

Responding to these changes, being a tourist spot that delivers the attractiveness of Fukuoka, the tower will be adding new facilities that are sure to be enjoyed by all generations including from local residents of Fukuoka, to visitors from near and far. So, for the first time in its operation, the tower will be closed for a total renewal and renovation until Thursday, January 31st.

Still being sure to utilizing its characteristics as a marine tower and being conscious of the story like experience as it traverses from sea to sky, the new renovations will include contents that lead visitors into new Fukuoka centered discoveries and hands-on experiences. In addition, newly refurbished restrooms and nursing areas along with various multi-lingual signs will be included as a part of the renovations, ensuring that every visitor can spend time in a comfortable way.

The renewal concept is “Share Your Memories at Fukuoka Tower”. The new facilities will be sure to provide lasting memories for visitors and their friends, families and partners.

The newly renovated tower is planning to open on Friday, February 1st. Hours of operation will be from 9:30 am to 10 pm with final admissions at 9:30 pm. Price of admissions will be 800 yen for high school students and above, 500 yen for elementary, junior high school students and people aged 65 and over and 200 yen for children younger than elementary school age from 4 years of age.

전면 리뉴얼 보수공사를 실시 중으로, 1월 31일 목요일까지 휴관합니다.

비치 타워로서의 특성을 살려 바다에서 하늘로 향하는 체험 스토리를 의식해 관내를 개장하고, 새로운 후쿠오카를 발견하고 체험할 수 있는 콘텐츠를 추가합니다.
그리고 화장실 개장과 수유실 신설, 다국어 안내표시 등을 통해 모든 고객이 더욱 쾌적하게 즐길 수 있는 시설이 됩니다.

리뉴얼 컨셉은 [후쿠오카 기념일을 후쿠오카 타워에서].
친구들이나 가족, 연인 등 방문하는 모든 분들의 추억에 남을 감동을 선사하는 시설로 재탄생합니다.

리뉴얼 오픈은 2월 1일 금요일을 예정하고 있습니다. 영업시간은 오전 9시 30분부터 오후 10시까지(최종 입장은 오후 9시 30분까지)이며, 이용요금은 고등학생 이상 800엔, 초등학생과 중학생 및 만 65세 이상은 500엔,
만 4세 이상의 취학전 아동은 200엔입니다.
한번 방문하셔서 높이 123미터 전망대에서 경치를 감상하시기 바랍니다.

在平成元年为纪念福冈市制100周年而举行了「亚太平洋博览会」，作为象征物在早良区百道滨建了「福冈塔」。
如今，福冈塔承担着观光景点・展望塔和电波塔等重要的作用。
经历了30年的风雨，建筑物开始老化，同时近年来日外国人增加，客人的需求也呈现出多样化。
为了适应这些变化，更好地表现福冈魅力，既能满足当地人的需求也能让外国人士们满意，现在正在进行首次全面装修，到1月31号星期四，福冈塔休馆
装修后的福冈塔将在发挥海滨塔特长同时，以从大海向天空扩展的全新体验型概念，追加了福冈的新发现・新体验。另外还改建了洗手间，新设了哺乳室，增添了多语种指示标记，力争让所有旅客都能放心舒适地参观和旅游。
这次装修的口号是「福冈纪念日于福冈塔」。希望可以为朋友家人、恋人所有造访的客人们留下深刻的印象。
装修后重开的日子定于2月1号周五。营业时间是9点半到晚上10点（最终入馆截至9点半），收费高中生以上800日元，小学・中学生和65岁以上的人500日元，4岁至小学入学前的儿童是200日元。
