The final screening and awards ceremony for the Fukuoka Global Venture Awards will be held on Saturday, October 18th. The Fukuoka Global Venture Awards competition is an English language business plan contest for enterprises in Japan looking to go global in operations, or enterprises from abroad looking to make their way into Fukuoka.

The object of the contest is to promote the city of Fukuoka as a center of exchange for domestic and foreign entrepreneurs, as well as to grow enterprises in Fukuoka that may become global in scale.

In the final screening, 6 domestic venture enterprises looking to develop operations overseas, and 5 foreign venture enterprises looking to become active in Japan, will make presentations and field questions. The competitors will be vying for the Awards Top award. Domestic competitors are from Fukuoka and Tokyo. Foreign competitors are enterprises currently active in Korea, Singapore, Thailand and Taiwan.

And, during the October 18th final screening and awards ceremony, there will be special keynote speeches given by Vice President International of the American company OpenTable, Catherine Porter, along with Mobile Healthcare’s CEO James Nakagawa.

It all takes place at the large conference room on the 7th floor of ACROS Fukuoka. Again, the keynote speeches and final screening will take place on Saturday, October 18th, beginning at 12:00. The Awards ceremony is scheduled to take place at a separate venue from 6:45 PM and will include a reception.

Attendance is limited to 120 people. There is no charge to attend the final screening or keynote speeches.
