Here is information from Rainbow Plaza.

Twice every month, on the first and third Thursday of the month, there is a “Japanese Chat Salon” being held in the Fukuoka City International Foundation large conference room on the 5th floor of Fukuoka City Hall’s North Annex. It’s a place where foreign students in Fukuoka, including those studying at Japanese language schools, and local Japanese volunteers can get together in a relaxed atmosphere and talk.

The next meeting will take place on December 4th. Sessions start at 1:30 PM and run through 5 PM. Participants are free to come and go as they please during the session, and participation is free! Reservations are not necessary, however if you plan to attend in a group of 5 or more people please contact the Fukuoka Foreign Student Support Association prior to your arrival.

Anyone who wants to use Japanese they have studied previously, or just talk with a native Japanese person, this is your chance!

And Rainbow Plaza also has information to share about the 12th Fukuoka Korean Speech Contest.

The 12th Fukuoka Korean Speech Contest is a competition between 14 contestants in the Fukuoka city area, speaking on a theme of their choice. Come feel the allure of Korea, hear about experiences with the Korean people as well as many other topics. There will be a drawing with prizes for audience members as well. It is free to attend the contest and prior reservations are not required, so bring a friend and come see what everyone is talking about!

The contest will be held on Sunday, November 30th, from 2 to 5 PM at Fuku Fuku Plaza, located in Arato, in the Chuo Ward of Fukuoka. Doors open at 1:30 PM.
