Fukuoka city is working together with community volunteer reading groups, libraries and schools to help children learn to enjoy books by offering the Fukuoka City Children's Reading Forum.

There are lots of events, including craft workshops, musicals, Japanese children’s songs called “warabe-uta” in Japanese, and picture book read-alouds. And, if participants go around the venues to collect stickers, they will receive a present. Last year's participants made comments about the program like, "There were lots of books and it was really fun!" and "The children were very happy!"

This year the event will take place on Saturday, December 3rd, from 11:00 AM until 4:00 PM at AMIKAS, located next to the Nishitetsu Takamiya Station. It's free to participate and there is no need to make reservations. Come out and enjoy the event! Next, Fukuoka city would like to remind you about norovirus and food poisoning. Every year during the winter season, many cases of norovirus food poisoning occur at various events and in private homes. Please be sure to take care!

One way to prevent becoming infected is to avoid having people who are not feeling well prepare meals. Also, be sure to wash your hands thoroughly when handling food, before meals and after using the toilet. Be sure to cook foods fully, in particular shellfish. Also, the Hygiene Section of local government ward offices offer a special lighting device called a “Hand-washing Checker” that allows one to check whether or not they are washing their hands effectively. They are available for anyone to borrow. Please inquire at the Hygiene Section of your local ward office.

Norovirus is communicable, infecting people via contact with others who are infected, or through touching objects also handled by those who are infected. It is considered to be very dangerous. Please take care of your health.

冬季容易发生的獐病毒。
往年每到冬季，獐病毒性肠胃炎时有发生。家庭或大型活动会场也有发生，提醒各位注意。
预防时需要注意以下几点。
身体有不适的人不要做饭，做饭和饮食前，去过洗手间后用肥皂认真洗手。
食品，特别是双层贝类，一定充分加热加透了等。
市内各区卫生科，可以出借看看手是否洗干净了的，使用特殊光来照的检测工具。谁都可以借用，请和各区卫生科直接联系。
獐病毒是，人传人，以及通过感染者使用过的器具传给他人的「传染病」，非常危险请大家格外小心。
