Fukuoka city is running a national health insurance specific health check-up program commonly known as “Yokadock”. The program looks to help prevent diseases caused by high blood sugar, high blood pressure or lipid abnormality. These things lead to hardening of the arteries and are often caused by lifestyle habits. You can have all of these factors examined for just 500 yen! It’s time to get checked!

The program is intended for those enrolled in the national health insurance plan who are 40 to 74 years old.

And, in another announcement, Fukuoka city would like to make sure you are aware of telephone fraud.

Perpetrators of telephone fraud pretend to be civil servants and claim they are calling to refund medical or insurance fees paid in excess. They then access and commit fraud using ATMs. This pattern of crime has been seen often lately.

Please be aware that in Fukuoka, medical and insurance reimbursements are not performed using ATMs. If you receive a call such as the one just described, or become a victim of telephone fraud, be sure to report it immediately to your nearest police.
