Here's information from the Fukuoka City International Center about the Home Visit Program for International Students. The Home Visit Program introduces Japanese families in Fukuoka interested in international exchange, to international students enrolled in colleges, junior colleges, language schools, or other such organizations in the Fukuoka metropolitan area, providing the opportunity for them to meet regularly and deepen mutual friendship and understanding.

Have you ever thought, “I want to get to know more about Japan!” or, “I just don’t have time to do a homestay!”? This is a program that gives you the chance to engage in exchange with a Japanese family in their home. Why not give it a try? Participants visit Japanese host families at their home and enjoy time together freely, such as conversation over meals.

The period of exchange between host families and foreign students is for three months, from September until November. There are openings for twenty participants.

And, the Fukuoka City International Center would also like to let you know about the Japanese Chatting Salon.

Every first and third Thursday of the month, there is a Japanese Chatting Salon being held in the large conference room of the Fukuoka City International Foundation on the 4th floor of the Fukuoka City International Center. It’s a place where foreign students studying in Fukuoka and local Japanese volunteers can get together in a relaxed atmosphere and talk. The next session is on July 6!

Sessions start at 2:00 PM and run through 5:00 PM. Participants are free to come and go as they please during the session, and participation is free! Reservations are not necessary, however if you plan to attend in a group of 5 or more people please contact the Fukuoka Foreign Student Support Association prior to your arrival. Anyone who wants to use Japanese they have studied previously, or just talk with a native Japanese person, this is your chance! 面向福冈都市圈内的大学、短期大学及语言学校的在籍外国留学生介绍日本人家庭，去日本人家里做客的活动。您不想也来体验一下吗

‘유학생 홈비지트’참가자 모집에 대해 알려드립니다.

후쿠오카 도시권의 대학과 단기대학, 또는 어학교 등에 다니는 외국인학생 여러분, 일본인 가정을 방문하는 ‘유학생 홈비지트’에 참가해 보세요.

홈비지트는 일본을 더욱 알고 싶으신 분들뿐만 아니라 홈스테이할 시간이 없는 분도 일본인 가정에서 교류할 수 있는 프로그램입니다. 지속적인 교류를 희망하는 일본인 가정에서 함께 식사를 하면서 대화를 즐기는 등 서로 자유로운 방식으로 교류하면서 우호친선과 상호이해를 도모합니다.

이어서 일본어학교를 포함해 후쿠오카에서 학업 중인 외국인학생과 일본인 자원봉사자가 즐겁게 대화를 나누는 ‘일본어 오샤베리 살롱’을 안내해 드립니다. 평소 학교에서 배운 일본어를 써보고 싶으신 분이나 일본인과 대화하고 싶으신 분들은 참가해 주세요.

매달 첫째, 셋째 목요일에 개최합니다. 장소는 후쿠오카시 국제회관, 후쿠오카 요카토피아 국제교류재단 4층 대회의실. 개최시간은 오후2부터 ５시까지로, 개최시간 중에는 자유롭게 이용하실 수 있습니다. 참가비는 무료입니다. 예약은 필요없으나 5명 이상의 그룹으로 참가하실 경우에는 사전에 연락해 주세요.
