The Hakata Gion Yamakasa, a Shinto ritual dedicated to Kushida Shrine, boasts 776 years of tradition. And, in November of last year, the element of Yama · Hoko · Yatai float festivals, which includes the Hakata Gion Yamakasa, was registered as a UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage. This year will be the first year the Yamakasa event will be held after its registration.

In 1241 the founder of the Jotenji temple offered prayers to purify Hakata from a plague. This is said to be the origin of Hakata Gion Yamakasa. Today, gorgeous decorative “Kazari Yamakasa”, with heights of over 10 meters, are put on display in 14 locations around the city. And, men carrying a "Kaki Yamakasa”, measuring about 4 meters in height and weighing in at about 1 ton, perform various events that liven up the city’s atmosphere, culminating with the early morning “Oiyama” event on July 15.

In the past, the "Kazari Yamakasa" were paraded around the city of Hakata, but with more modern times came electric wires, stretched along streets. However, through the people of Hakata's wisdom and ingenuity, a float with a reduced height was born, called the " Kaki Yamakasa”, and the festival was kept alive. And in 1964, the “Hashiru Kazari Yamakasa”, reminiscent of the classic Kaki Yamakasa, standing over 10 meters in height and exceeding 2 tons in weight, was introduced as the Hachiban Yamakasa located on Kamikawabata-dori Street.

This year's theme for the "Hashiru Kazari Yamakasa" is the movie "Star Wars". This is the first attempt in history to create Yamakasa based on a foreign movie. The "Star Wars Yamakasa”, with a height of 13 meters and a weight of 2 tons, will be on display on Kamikawabata Shopping Street in Hakata ward until July 14.

You can watch the brave Yamakasa runners on July 12 in the 3:59 PM “Oiyama Narashi” event, and on the 13th at 3:30 PM in the “Shudan Yamamise” event, and at 4:59 AM on the 15th in the “Oiyama" event. Feel the enthusiasm of Hakata come to life!

In addition, the Fukuoka City Museum is holding the "Hakata Gion Yamakasa Exhibition" as a UNESCO Registration Memorial Exhibition until August 20. It is a special exhibition that introduces the Hakata Gion Yamakasa, transcending throughout the ages of history, and the unique Yamakasa culture built around it. There are various other exhibitions as well, such as the oldest existing folding screen of the Edo period depicting Yamakasa. Be sure to come experience this display of history!

776년의 전통을 자랑하는 구시다 신사의 봉납제사 [하카타 기온 야마카사].
지난해 11월에는 하카타 기온 야마카사가 포함된 [야마/호코/야타이 행사]가 유네스코 무형문화유산에 등재되었습니다.
올해는 등재 이후 처음 실시되는 [야마카사] 개최입니다.

1241년 조텐지 절을 창립한 승려가 하카타에 유행했던 전염병을 퇴치하기 위해 도시 정화를 위해 기도한 것이 하카타 기온 야마카사의 기원이라고 전해집니다.
10여 미터 높이의 화려한 [장식가마]가 시내 14개 장소에서 공개 중입니다.
그리고 약 4미터 높이, 약 1톤 무게의 가마를 짊어진 남성들이 속도를 겨루며 달리는 15일 새벽의 [오이야마]까지 다양한 행사를 하면서 도시는 열기에 휩싸입니다.

옛날에는 [장식가마]를 짊어지고 하카타 거리를 행진했는데 근대화로 인해 도시 곳곳에 전선이 놓여지면서 높이를 낮춘 [가키야마]가 탄생. 하카타 상인들이 지혜와 연구를 통해 축제를 유지시켰습니다. 그리고 1964년에는 과거의 가키야마를 방불케하는 10여 미터 높이, 2톤 이상의 무게인 8번 야마카사 [가미카와바타 나가레]의 [질주하는 장식가마]가 등장했습니다.

올해의 [질주하는 장식가마]의 테마는 영화 [스타워즈]입니다. 헐리우드 영화를 소재로 해 야마카사를 제작한 것은 역사상 첫 시도입니다. 13미터 높이, 2톤 무게의 [스타워즈 야마카사]는 7월 14일까지 하카타구 가미카와바타 상점가에 전시합니다.
야마카사가 웅장하게 달리는 모습을 볼 수 있는 일정은 12일 오후 3시 59분부터 실시하는 [오이야마 나라시], 13일 오후 3시 30분부터 실시하는 [슈단야마미세], 15일 오전 4시 59분부터 실시하는 [오이야마]입니다.
하카타의 열기를 직접 느껴보시기 바랍니다.

한편 후쿠오카시 박물관에서 8월 20일까지 유네스코 등재기념 기획전으로 [하카타 기온 야마카사전]을 개최하고 있습니다. 독자적인 야마카사 문화를 구축한 하카타 기온 야마카사가 시공을 초월해 어떻게 기록되어 왔는지를 소개하는 기획전입니다. 현존하는 가장 오래된 야마카사의 모습을 그린 에도 시대의 병풍 등 다양한 자료가 전시되어 있습니다. 이 전시회도 감상해 보시기 바랍니다.

有着776年悠久历史节田神社的奉纳神事「博多祇园山立节」。
去年11月，博多祇园山立以及「山・鉾・屋台行事（やま・ほこ・やたいぎょうじ）」被评为联合国教科文组织非物质文化遗产。今年是获得此殊荣之后第一个山立节
据说博多祇园山立节的起源要追述到1241年承天寺的开祖，为了快点驱散博多地区蔓延的疾病，在街上洒水为街道净身以此做祈祷由此诞生了这项活动。每年高10多几米华丽的「装饰山立」在市内14个地方摆放那一天开始有大小各种活动举行，一直持续到最后一天15号清晨，博多男儿们扛着高约4米，重1吨「舁山立」 完成「追山」，才算全部结束。
最早是直接扛着「装饰山立」在街上奔跑，但是后来由于电线增多，高高的山立不方便，所以改为使用较矮的「舁山立」。博多人的聪明才智是该项传统得以保存至今的源泉。昭和39年诞生了很像舁山立YU3的高10多米、重2吨的八番山「上川端通」的“奔跑装饰山立”。今年的“奔跑装饰山立”第一次采用了欧美电影为题材，主题选用了电影「星球大战」。高13米、重2吨的「星球大战山立」、7月14号之前摆放在博多区上川端商店街。可以欣赏到山立奔跑的日子是12号下午3点59分开始的「追山预演追い山ならし」，13号下午3点半的「集团山立展示集団山見せ」，15号早上4点59分开始的「追山」。希望更多的人都来亲身感受博多夏日的热烈场面。另外福冈市博物馆在8月20号以前、作为载入联合国教科文组织非物质文化遗产史册纪念企划展正在展出「博多祇园山立节」相关资料。独特的山立文化是如何随着时代变迁变化又是如何保存下来的，江户时期艺术作品屏风上的山立是现存的最古老的场景，述说山立历史的展览请一定来参观
