The Fukuoka City International Center, located in Hakata Ward’s Tenyamachi, is open from 8:45 AM until 6:00 PM weekdays, with a staff that helps provide foreigners with important information about living in Fukuoka, and offers various kinds of assistance, in English, Chinese, and Korean. Furthermore, counseling sessions are offered with psychological counselors, lawyers, administrative gyouseishoshi lawyers, and other specialists, free of charge.

The Fukuoka City International Center looks to make life in Fukuoka the best it can be for foreign residents. Please stop by if you need help with anything!

The Fukuoka City International Center would also like to let you know about free consultation regarding immigration, residency, and nationality matters, made available by the Fukuoka City International Foundation at the Fukuoka City International Center.

To maintain a safe and comfortable life in Japan, it is necessary for foreign residents to have correct knowledge about residency status and term of stay regulations. Are there any questions or concerns you have? A gyousei-shoshi, or administrative lawyer, from the Fukuoka Bar Association who specializes in such matters will answer your questions and offer consultation about topics such as the Japanese immigration system and residency status.

Consultations are held every second Sunday of the month, in January that will be the 14th. They are offered from 1:00 to 4:00 PM. Please note you are required to register by 3:30 PM.

There are English and Chinese translators present, and so consultation in English, Chinese and Japanese does not require a reservation. For consultation in other languages, please contact The Fukuoka City International Center at least one week prior to your visit, as an interpreter might be arranged. And, confidentiality is guaranteed. Please feel at ease to make use of these services, no matter how simple a question you may have.
