Free consultation regarding immigration, residency and nationality for foreigners in Fukuoka is made available by the Fukuoka City International Foundation at the Fukuoka City International Center.

To maintain a safe and comfortable life in Japan, it is necessary for foreign residents to have correct knowledge about residency status and term of stay regulations. Are there any questions or concerns you have? A gyousei-shoshi, or administrative lawyer, from the Fukuoka Gyoseishoshi Lawyers Association who specializes in such matters will answer your questions and offer consultation about topics such as the Japanese immigration system and residency status.

Consultations are held every second Sunday of the month. In May that will be the 13th. They are offered from 1 to 4 PM. Please note you are required to register by 3:30 PM.

There are English and Chinese interpreters present, and so consultation in English, Chinese and Japanese does not require a reservation. For consultation in other languages, please contact the Fukuoka City International Center at least one week prior to your visit, as an interpreter might be arranged. And, confidentiality is guaranteed. Please feel at ease to make use of these services, no matter how simple a question you may have.

And, there is also an announcement about Foreign Student Taught Language Classes offered at the Fukuoka City International Center. They focus on teaching the languages of the Asia-Pacific region. Learn more than just language in these language classes taught by overseas students! Students learn not just language, but about the culture and societies of countries, mainly in Asia, and around the world. Seats are currently available for classes in Arabic, Nepali, Hindi and Burmese.

Classes are offered at the Fukuoka City International Center. It's just a 5 minute walk from the Fukuoka City Nakasu-Kawabata subway station. Classes start in May this year and run through February of next year! That's a full 10 month, 40 class opportunity! And it's only 32,400 yen, tax included, for a full year's courses!

Seats are awarded on a first come first-served basis and classes will be closed when seats are filled. Registration for classes will be closed at the end of May. 平成30年度「向留学生学外语的教室」正在追加募集听讲生。

教授以亚太地区语言为主的教室「向留学生学外语的教室」，老师是留学生，通过和他们的交流，不仅可以学习语言，还可以了解各国的文化和社会

现在阿拉伯语、尼泊尔语、印度语、缅甸语正在追加募集听讲生。

아시아 태평양을 중심으로 한 다양한 언어를 배우는 ‘유학생이 지도하는 외국어교실’은 강사인 유학생과 교류를 통해 언어뿐만 아니라 각국과 지역의 문화와 사회 등도 배울 수 있는 교실입니다. 현재 아라비아어, 네팔어, 힌두어, 미얀마어 등의 수강생을 추가로 모집합니다.
